Description Technical Specs

Our 562 PTFE Film Electrical Tape is a military-grade, high-performance skived polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) tape engineered for superior electrical insulation and heat resistance. Coated with a high-temperature, pressure-sensitive silicone adhesive on one side, this tape offers exceptional conformability, chemical resistance, and an extremely low coefficient of friction.

Designed to perform reliably in extreme environments, this 3.5-mil thick tape is perfect for insulating wire harnesses, protecting high-voltage components, and providing slick, non-stick release surfaces in high-temperature manufacturing. It meets the rigorous quality and safety standards of military specification MIL-I-23594C (now classified under commercial item description A-A-59474).

Applications

Key Features:

  • Military-Grade Reliability: Compliant with MIL-I-23594C standards for critical aerospace and defense applications.
  • High Dielectric Strength: Exceptional electrical insulation properties with high breakdown voltage protection.
  • High-Temp Silicone Adhesive: Thermosetting adhesive performs continuously from cryogenic temperatures up to 500°F (260°C) without degradation.
  • Chemical & Moisture Resistant: Inert backing material resists aviation fuels, hydraulic fluids, solvents, and water ingress.

This versatile PTFE electrical tape is highly suited for a variety of demanding applications across multiple industries:

  • Aerospace & Aviation: Wrapping and protecting wiring harnesses and insulation configurations in aircraft frames and control panels.
  • High-Temperature Electrical Insulation: Perfect for phase insulation in coils, wrapping transformers, capacitor insulation, and splicing wires.
  • Industrial Manufacturing: Used as a low-friction, non-stick wear strip on guide rails, chute liners, and heat-sealing machinery.
  • Marine Electronics: Offers rugged protection and moisture sealing for wiring splices, cable repairs, and underwater blast cap wire configurations.
