3M™ Glass Cloth Electrical Tape 69 | 3/8" x 36 Yds

3M 69 Glass Cloth Electrical Tape (3/8" x 36 Yds)

3M™ Glass Cloth Electrical Tape 69 is a premium-grade, high-performance woven glass cloth tape engineered for superior electrical insulation and mechanical strength. Coated with a high-temperature, pressure-sensitive thermosetting silicone adhesive on one side, this tape offers exceptional flame resistance, edge-tear resistance, and an ability to perform reliably under high thermal loads.

Designed to perform reliably in extreme environments, this 7.0-mil thick tape is perfect for insulating motor leads, protecting high-voltage components, and providing high-heat crossover insulation in demanding industrial applications. It meets the rigorous quality and safety standards of military specification MIL-I-19166C.

Military & Agency Compliance: Fully meets the rigorous requirements of Military Specification No. MIL-I-19166C. It is UL Recognized for operational temperatures up to 200°C (392°F) and CSA Certified up to 180°C (356°F).

Key Features & Benefits

  • Thermosetting Silicone Adhesive: Formulated to offer non-corrosive, solvent-resistant protection with increased bonding stability under high thermal loads.
  • High Mechanical Performance: Woven glass cloth backing provides robust edge-tear resistance, high tensile strength, and minimizes shrinking or rotting.
  • Premium Insulation: Engineered for 600V dry-location applications, making it ideal for motors, transformers, and coil wrapping.
  • Printable Surface: Backing allows for easy marking and identification during complex wiring assemblies.
Applications

Common Applications

This tape is heavily utilized across aerospace, industrial electrical, and defense manufacturing environments for:

  • Insulating electric motor leads, switches, and high-heat oven controls.
  • Serving as outer wraps for bobbin-wound coils and banding arbor-wound coils.
  • Securing lead pads, anchoring connections, and providing high-temperature crossover insulation.
