Description Technical Specs

High-Performance 35 AWG Amidester-200 Clear Magnet Wire

Our Amidester-200 is a premier-grade, modified polyesterimide enameled copper wire engineered for demanding electrical environments. Rated at 200°C (Class N), this wire offers a significant thermal upgrade over standard magnet wires, ensuring your coils and windings maintain integrity even under heavy loads or high ambient temperatures. Approx. 13.5 LBS. on 6 x 6 Spool

Why Amidester-200?

This "Clear" (natural) finish wire is preferred by engineers and hobbyists alike for its clean aesthetic and high-performance dual-purpose coating. The insulation provides exceptional dielectric strength and is highly resistant to common industrial solvents, transformer oils, and moisture—making it ideal for both open-air and sealed (hermetic) applications.

Precision Engineering for Fine Windings

At 35 AWG is specifically designed for precision components. Whether you are winding miniature relays, high-frequency transformers, specialized sensors, or custom guitar pickups, the high-purity annealed copper ensures maximum conductivity and flexibility, reducing the risk of wire breakage during the winding process.

Industry-Standard Compliance

This wire is manufactured to meet or exceed NEMA MW 35-C specifications. It features a "Heavy Build" insulation layer that provides a superior barrier against short circuits while remaining flexible enough for high-speed automated winding or intricate hand-winding.

Important Note on Termination:

Amidester-200 is a high-temperature insulation and is non-solderable. The enamel must be mechanically removed (abraded) or chemically stripped before soldering or making electrical connections.

Applications
  • Rated continuous up to 200 °C (392 °F)
  • Heavy build insulated with polyester/polyamide-imide coating
  • Excellent abrasion and thermal stability
  • Conforms to NEMA MW-35-C / MW-74-C insulation standards
  • Use in motors, solenoids, transformers, and high temp coils
